Weblogs
These are the best and most active of the UX, IA and IxD blogs that we're aware of—but that doesn't mean there aren't even more. Save yourself some time and subscribe to their RSS feeds.
Asterisk is where D. Keith Robinson writes about "Web design in the real world."
Bloug is the Weblog home of Lou Rosenfeld (co-author of Information Architecture for the World Wide Web) where he discusses IA and UX.
Creating Passionate Users by Kathy Sierra is an absolute must-read. Kathy and team are passionate about the "brain and metacognition, most especially—how the brain works and how to exploit it for better learning and memory." But CPU is really about applying this research to improving user experience. Great insights and great fun too.
GreenOnions.com offers Dan Brown's thoughts on "user experience, information architecture, consumer electronics, and Bluegrass."
DonnaM is the blog of IA Donna Maurer, focusing on Information architecture, user-centered design, usability and more. Donna is a real-life IA who shares real-life ideas, experiences and solutions.
Functioning Form is the Weblog platform of Luke Wroblewski—"merging medium and message in interface design, the user experience design process, Web applications, and more."
iaslash is a long-time group blog that offers news and resources for IAs—so much that it's hard to keep up! Visit it often to see what's up.
InfoDesign—authored by Peter Bogaards—is "dedicated to the growth and improvement of the information experience industries." It's an excellent almost-daily collection and summary of UX-related topics.
IT Facts from ZDNet is a stats blog—gathering and summarizing the latest Web and Internet statistics. Lacking a good archive and search utility, this one is best monitored by RSS.
Peterme contains "links, thoughts and essays" from Peter Merholz of Adaptive Path.
UIDesigner is another aggregator of "information, ideas, research, opinions, and lessons learned about user interface design (UID), user centered design (UCD), usability testing & research, task analysis, card sorting, usability heuristics, information architecture (IA), web design, interactive design, graphical user interface (GUI), software design, web applications, user experience, and intranets."
UIE Brain Sparks is a thoughtful blog from the folks at User Interface Engineering.
UXCentric is Dave' Rogers' contribution to the blogosphere, written for those for those passionate about—and consumed by—improving people's experiences on the Web. It features occasional "news, views and links about user experience, information architecture and all things Web."
